The Mountain Cypress (Widdringtonia nodiflora) has an aromatic resin. It is monoecious (male and female cones on the same tree). The female cones open briefly for pollination and then close again and later open for the dispersal of the winged ovoid red seeds. The male seed - which is the one I have made, has a shield-like outer layer and 4 pollen sacs at the base of each scale.
